About Me

Destiny George, LMSW
Master Social Worker / Psychotherapist
Destiny holds a Bachelor of Psychology degree from the University of Connecticut (UCONN) and a Master of Social Work degree from Edinboro University. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of Connecticut.
Clinically trained at Edinboro University, Destiny's training focused on working with mental health issues that impact individuals and families including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, addictions, domestic violence, family and relational issues, spirituality, women issues, all aspects of trauma including racial, gender, and cultural trauma, and more. She has worked primarily with older teens, young adults, and adults.
Destiny's approach developed during her academic and experiential work as well as many diverse post graduate trainings. This training includes a rich foundation in:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP)
Dialectical Behavioral Skills Training (DBT)
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
She regularly attends clinical trainings to keep current on knowledge and skills relating to specific treatment approaches as well as furthering her expertise in the science of behavior, human development across the lifespan, and emotional and psychological wellness.
Since 2018, Destiny has worked within educational, non profit, and clinical residential settings and most recently in practicing psychotherapy. She has acquired diverse skills that help her to work with a wide array of client needs to help empower the clients she works with towards greater mental health.
